No idea if someone is still maintaining this great plugin but I guess I still have to post this.

Been using PhotoPress for some time now. However, widgets become uneditable if PhotoPress is activated. Tried and tested it for a while. This only happens when using FF. In IE, I can still edit the widgets, but the layout of the sidebar widgets page is all screwed up. When I turn off PhotoPress, the layout of the sidebar widgets page is reverted back to normal.

I'm suspecting this has something to do with the "effects" script in the scriptaculous folder of widgets. No idea how to prove it though, since I don't know anything about the code used in the said folder.

Anyway, hope someone has tried and succeeded making PhotoPress play nicely with the widgets page.

I had a problem uploading any files, on http://www.careyfamily.co.uk. They were associated with line 358 of the popup.php file. Presumably php had been installed on the server without exif functions, so the program dropped through to getimagesize. But that then generated a warning and failed because the file at that stage was in a temporary directory not in the filespace that I had any control over.

For now, I've commented out the "if function_exists" that included these function calls, and also the reference to $image_type at the start of the next "if". This got the thing working, but removes some of the file verification. This can presumably be restored by putting the commented-out "if" after the move_uploaded_file. The file suffix is still being checked, anyway, so some checks are happening.

Hello,

I love the Photopress plugin and have used it in a couple of sites already. I am currently designing a website for my family, and I was wondering if there was a way to change the random image into the most recently posted image... or the most recently posted image in a specific category? I would appreciate any help here. Thanks again for the great plugin.

Hi Isaac,

I have a patch that instead of using a popup window to display images uses a JavaScript animation (http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/). You can see an example on my website.

I am keen to get this merged into the "official" tree as it adds little overhead if it's switched off. Please let me know how to send you the patch.

Everyone else: let me know if you'd like me to send you the patch or put it on my website for you to download.

Cheers,
--> Stephen

HI,

Just installed the plugin, and it fits like a glove - nice work!

One question, before I try to ammend the code, is there an easy way to group uploaded photos by user - so that each is in control of their own name-space, so to speak?

The obvious way, if I may say so, is to upload the file into a sub-folder of the photo repository using the userid as folder name.

All suggestions welcome,
Adrian

Hi, I have this plugin running on one of my blogs and it's just great and working fine on a 2.0.5 WP version. I have made a french fr_FR.po and .mo so I would like the author to contact me so we could share my translation. I have not tested it thouroughly so changes to my strings may be needed.

Hey I was wondering if there was anyway to asign a class to the image you are linking to from the thumbnail, instead of the thumb itself, automatically.
